Shellington might come across sometimes as a bit prickly like his friend Needles, but inside he is really a kind-hearted otter. The only time when he might be a bit rude is if you trespass in his lab. No one except Shellington and Baby E. are allowed in there and the other animals only find out what is going on when something goes wrong (aka the house flooding or exploding).
Shellington's secret dream is to become an inventor when he grows up. However, he won't be inventing electronics or machines. Instead, Shellington is hoping to invent water-proof books! He is always trying to read while floating out at sea and more often than not the pages get soggy. He has been thinking about a solution to this problem since he was little and is hoping to send a plan to publishing companies soon.
Let's start off with one of the easiest problems to fix (though it is still important). Plastic pollution! Every time you, and I mean YOU, throw a candy wrapper in a trash can, one more piece of litter is added to a landfill near you. And you know something even worse than throwing your peanut M&M's pack into the trash? Not throwing it into the trash! Now, it could end up in the ocean and join a large garbage island floating out there. If after this you feel really bad and wish you could fix it, you can! Just try to buy less products that use plastic, recycle everything you can, and reuse old things you don't need anymore!
My time is almost up, but I just want to talk about one more thing that is sitting somewhere in your house right now. No, I'm not talking about the half-eaten sandwich sitting on your kitchen table. You know that shiny, new, red Honda sitting in your garage? I know you need it to get to places far away from your house, but for close things, just walk or bike. It will be great exercise and will limit the amount of fossil fuels in the air. Wait, Hamlet is calling me! It's time for dinner! Bye!
