Rocky first traveled to the Animal House with his father Buster Gray in 2018. He was in 2nd grade at the time but has now progressed to 4th grade! Before Rocky and Buster Gray came to the Animal House, they lived in a tiny cabin in Alaska. Rocky loved it there but was happy to get a change of scenery and make new friends my moving here (he wasn't able to have many before since it was so empty there). Rocky still misses his old home though, and every winter he and Buster Gray make sure to go back and visit.
Some of his favorite hobbies include learning about space and watching space movies. He loves Star Wars, Space Buddies, and Space Camp. Buster Gray has approved all of these movies and loves to binge-watch them with him for hours on end. Below is a picture of them on dress like your son/father day! They are both very close, and Rocky hates having to be away from the father he loves so much. Luckily for him, Buster Gray feels the exact same way, and the only time they are not in the same room is when they have to go to the bathroom! Some other activities they enjoy doing together are doing puzzles (mind puzzles and piece puzzles), eating out, reading, and looking up at the night sky.
Some of his best friends are Astro, Meteor, Flash, and Baby E. Sometimes Meteor, Astro, and him get into long discussions about space. Buster Gray adores space and encourages Rocky all the time to get involved and love space just as much as he does. Rocky's mom is also a space fanatic and is currently aboard the ISS (International Space Station). Rocky is a little scientist and enjoys engineering new things with Baby E. and Flash in robotics club and outside of school. Buster Gray is also head of the robotics club, and though Rocky was doubtful about joining at first, it is his favorite extra-curricular activity.
I woke up from my nap just as the red planet came into view. It had been a long journey, almost 6 months, but I had made it. Eating freeze dried food and sucking my urine up in a tube wasn't as bad as it seems. The spaceship landed without error, with the help of astronauts in Huston, and I let out a sigh of relief.
The Martian surface felt rough beneath my paws, but I was comfortable in my snug dog-suit. I gazed at the scenery before me, but then turned my attention back to my mission. Retrieving the Flexibility rover and returning its samples back to earth. I had a tracker on my dog-suit for it, and quickly found the machine stuck in between two large boulders not far from the landing spot. It had managed to fill up all 24 sample tubes on board and was waiting for me to pick it up. Just as I was leaning forward to detach the tubes, the boulders on either side of it started to move! As they turned towards me, I realized they weren't boulders at all but really dark grey, large ALIENS!!!
As they moved towards me, a deep voice echoed over Mars. "We will not let you take these samples! They might give us away!" shouted the larger of the two aliens. I suddenly understood. They didn't want to have a fight, but they didn't want their planet to be overrun with animals like me. "Don't worry," I said, "We won't hurt you. Animals on Earth deserve to know what it is like here. What if we make a truce?" The grey aliens looked interested. I continued on with more confidence. "You allow me to bring these samples back to Earth, but we promise not to hurt you. We will only explore a bit of Mars and leave the rest of the planet to you."
After this they had a long discussion, but eventually decided to let me go. "Have safe travels!" said the same deep, booming voice, and then they were gone. A bit shaken, but happy, I gathered up the canisters to my ship and prepared to liftoff. As I waved goodbye to the red planet, I saw many of the boulders on the surface stir and stand up. They saluted me just as they slowly sank out of sight.
