Stuffed Animals

IN THE ANIMAL HOUSEHOLD

Oliver

Odorous Oliver

Oliver arrived at the Animal House at an unusual time for most stuffies: January! He joined the animal school half-way through the year and relied on some of his friends to help him get caught up (although he isn't particularly fond of school). Sometimes, he and Beary will sneak out of class and pogo stick on the playground together, as they share a dislike of reading and love of heights.

One of Oliver's favorite summer activities is going to a golf course near the Animal House. He is okay at golf, but that isn't the real reason he likes to go to the course. The second his ball lands in the last hole, Oliver usually scurries over to the go-kart racing track and hops into a car! He also enjoys swimming (although he only knows back-float and doggy-paddle), orange slushies, farting contests, and folding origami. When he grows up, Oliver wants to either be a cook, comedian, or racer.

Smells From the Nose of a Skunk

You might be wondering when you read the title, why do I need to know about what things smell like? I know perfectly well! But look closer at the title. Us skunks smell things quite differently than you humans; you might say that we have a different taste. I'm not going to go as far as saying every smell is different to us, but at least the way we think of them is. As an example, I know that most humans love the smell of freshly baked bread. But, when I smell it, I just can't help wrinkling my nose in disgust. The un-smelliness of it just gets on my nerves. However, when I am walking down the street and catch a whiff of a smelly sock, rotten egg, or even a skunk, I adore it, and sniff as hard and long as I can. Skunks love smells like these, and to us they smell like something you think smells good (for example roses or cinnamon). However, this makes things harder for skunks because smells are deceiving! I have to be careful that I don't eat some sauerkraut on spinach (which smells delicious), and actually have some pizza.
