Gigantor came to the Animal House in Christmas of 2018. After many pleading animals, he told them that it had been a great experience going down the chimney with Santa, and he happily showed them some ash still stuck behind his ears. Gigantor loves to sit around and read. He also loves taking care of the younger animals and telling them stories! From 9:00 to 3:00 on all weekdays during the school year, you will find Gigantor teaching first grade at animal elementary, a school at the Animal Household.
One of Gigantor's very best friends is Olaf! Olaf is a young koala who came to the Animal House slightly after Gigantor. Gigantor has been like a mentor to him ever since, and they love teasing each other (though Olaf has to be careful; Gigantor is his teacher). One of their favorite things to do together is reading. Olaf will curl up behind his ears, and Gigantor will read aloud (this can be shown in the picture below). Gigantor couldn't be happier that he decided to come here, although his favorite place will still have to be Georgetown University where he went to college and got his English degree.
Once upon a time, there were three little elephants who had just left their mother,
going out to look for a life of their own. But before they left, their mother warned them, "
Watch out for the big bad lion! If he sees three little elephants away from their mother, he'd
be sure to eat them up!"
Two of the little elephants quickly forgot about the big bad lion, but one kept him in mind.
Now, the first little elephant was very lazy. He knew he needed a house, but he just wanted to
play with his friends. He quickly constructed a house of leaves and then ran out to play.
At the same time the second little elephant was still very lazy. She wanted a good house,
but really just wanted to lay down and fall asleep. She made a house of branches quickly and
laid down to rest. The third little elephant didn't mind hard work, and he knew he had to build
a sturdy house to keep out the big bad lion. So, he gathered large stones, and used mud to glue
them together and make walls. There was only one hole for a door, but a large stone was covering the hole,
so it would take a very strong elephant to push it away.
On the other side of the savanna, the big bad lion was hungry. The wind was blowing scents of
little elephants to his nose. He followed the trail until he arrived at the first step of the
first little elephant's house. The first elephant had gotten back from playing and was watching TV on his couch. When the
big bad lion came up to his house...
